Nursery is available for infants and pre-kindergarten children during Sunday morning activities. Today we are happy to welcome back to our church the Rev. Dr. W. Harvey Jenkins, Jr. A native of Princeton, New Jersey, he graduated from Southwestern College (now Rhodes) in Memphis and Princeton Seminary. He earned his Doctor of Ministry degree from Candler School of Theology at Emory University. He served pastorates in Tennessee and Alabama, prior to being installed as the Executive Presbyter of the Presbytery of Florida on May 11, 1993. He served in this way until his retirement on March 8, 2004. Since retirement he and his wife, Johanna, are living in Orlando and Panama City. The flowers gracing the sanctuary today are given to the glory of God by Ray and Betty Brendemuehl in honor of all fathers. Our Food Pantry Offering for June will be received this morning. During the month of May our food pantry served 197 families which included 572 individuals. A Children=s Church program for children Kindergarten through 3rd grade will be held this morning upstairs following the anthem. Children below Kindergarten age will move to the nursery downstairs following the Time with the Children. The green stoles which are being used for the first time this morning by our choir have been made available through memorials given to the church in memory of Milton G. Wynn. This afternoon the following people from our church will be leaving for a week at our Presbytery Camp at Dogwood Acres: Adrian Alvarez, Evan Barber, Kayla Howard, Chaseton Owens, Alexis Pueschel and Emma Smith. Mary Schmidt will be one of the adult volunteers at the camp this week. They will return on Friday afternoon. The Good News Women will meet Monday evening at 7:00 at the home of Betty Joyce Hand. We will be continuing our study of the book AHaving a Mary Heart in a Martha World.@ The Presbytery of Florida will be meeting at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church in Chipley for the purpose of examining two candidates for Ordination as Ministers of Word and Sacrament. Our church will be represented by Richard Hand. All men are invited to the Men=s Bible Study on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the home of Kip Blighton, 4590 Forest Park Drive. All adults are invited to share in one of our Sunday School classes which are offered each week in addition to our classes for all younger ages. Dr. Joy Gilbert, the daughter of Sally Roos, and a missionary to Calabar, Nigeria, will be speaking about what it means to be a missionary. The insert in the bulletin outlines the items we will be collecting for her work. The deadline for this collection is Wednesday, July 18 when she will be speaking about her work at our covered dish supper. Huw and Rachel Christopher are away today for a time of vacation with their son, Micol, and his fiancee, Chin Lam, in California. He will be back in the office on the afternoon of this Friday, June 22. Our sympathy is extended to our former pastor, Preston Shealy, in the death of his mother, Fran Shealy, on Thursday, June 14, 2007 in Camden, South Carolina.
