Lord God Almighty!” CALL TO CONFESSION PRAYER OF CONFESSION Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, your power and greatness are more than we can imagine. When we think of your greatness and your holiness, O God, we are embarrassed about ourselves. Like Isaiah, we remember our unclean words. Like Peter, we know how unholy we are. Like Paul we remember how we have even worked against your will and ways. Hear of us now, O God, as silently we confess our own sins and unworthiness. We believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God. Jesus Christ is the first and the last, the beginning and the end, the same yesterday, today and forever; He is our Lord and our God. * HYMN OF THE CALL OF THE DISCIPLES No. 377 Pescador de Hombres “Lord, You Have Come to the Lakeshore” THE PRESENTATION OF TITHES AND OFFERINGS THE OFFERTORY * THE OFFERTORY RESPONSE Aurelia Refreshed by living waters, renewed by living bread, May we, your sons and daughters, by your own hand be led. Leader: Gracious God, by your Holy Spirit bless us and these your gifts ...we pray with confidence as Jesus has taught us, Unison: Our Father who art in heaven... (The Lord’s Prayer, Presbyterian Hymnal, page 16 traditional, using debts and debtors) COMMUNION OF THE PEOPLE (Please hold the elements until all have been served.) PRAYER OF DEDICATION Gracious God, Peter was just an ordinary fisherman. He understood nets and fish, boats and water. But Jesus taught him to speak in public, to work miraculous acts of healing, and to lead the church through controversy and persecution. Who would have thought this possible? Certainly not Peter! Gracious God, we are just ordinary people, but who knows what you can do through us? So we put ourselves into your hands. Take us into deep water where we can learn to trust in you, and get to watch the impossible become reality, and ordinary people do extraordinary things, through your guidance and with your strength.
